Residence halls receive upgrades this summer

Amid larger building projects like the Snowflex ski slope, Liberty University has not forgotten the details of daily life on campus. LU is spending an estimated $1.4 million to renovate residence halls this summer.

Workers are replacing windows and carpeting in the Circle residence halls on Main Campus and doing extensive bathroom renovations. Work is being done on windows, closets and bathroom flooring in halls on the Hill residences, and the Quads residence halls will also have carpeting replaced. Safety features such as sprinkler systems and fire alarms will also be upgraded in most halls. The work is being done by outside contractors and LU maintenance staff.

While these renovations are not as large-scale as other current building projects on campus, students will certainly appreciate safer and more comfortable residence halls when they arrive this fall.

Maintenance Manager Scott Starnes said the goal is to “better accommodate the students and strive to make their stay here pleasing.”
