Pastor Matt Holman speaks to Liberty students

The Rev. Matt Holman enlivened Liberty’s last Friday convocation of the semester as he spoke about never “crying uncle” but pressing on and holding onto the hope that a relationship with Jesus Christ can bring.

Holman, lead pastor at Landmark Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, is known for being an animated and witty speaker. He jumped, laughed, shouted and even did little dances across stage, mixing in humorous tales of his own college experience at a strict Bible college 30 years ago with Biblical lessons from Nehemiah’s life pursuits.

Holman’s two children are LU alumni.

There are two convocations left this semester. Tony Nolan is scheduled to speak on Monday, April 28. Nolan has served as Tour Pastor and Communicator for Casting Crowns Lifesong Tour and the Winter Jam Tour. He is a popular speaker for youth leader conferences and is the author of the devotional book, “Faith Fuel – a refueling journey.”

On Wednesday, April 30, Liberty Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. will close out the semester.

Three weekly convocation services give residential students the opportunity to hear world-class speakers address topics ranging from dating and relationships to biblical prophecy and archeology. The services also give the student body a chance to worship together and to be kept up-to-date on campus announcements and upcoming events.
