Seminary hosts week of Church Planting events

Tonight, the Center for Church Planting at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary kicks off a weeklong series of events teaching the principles of starting and growing New Testament churches in the 21st century.

Tonight’s Church Planters Round Table runs from 6-9 p.m. in the Living Proof room at Campus North (beside the indoor track) and continues tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event is being held in partnership with the Association of Related Churches (ARC), which has launched some of the fastest growing churches in the country in the last decade.

Attendees can expect to hear real-life answers to the questions church planters must ask regarding issues such as location, financing, promotion and outreach.

Guest speakers will include Billy Hornsby, a nationally recognized leader in church planting and published author on the subject, and Matt Fry, planter and pastor of C3 Church, a fast-growing and innovative ministry in suburban North Carolina.

“Church Planting is the greatest evangelistic approach given to the church,” said Dr. David Wheeler, Associate Director of Church Planting at LBTS. “Just as the cells of a living organism naturally multiply, so must the church if it is going to impact the world for Christ.”

The Seminary’s emphasis on church planting continues through March 4, with various speakers presenting at convocation and in classrooms, a Disaster Relief Lunch and a “ground breaking” Q&A session at the Muze café with complimentary pizza and coffee. A complete schedule of events is posted on the Center for Church Planting website.
