Liberty Law notches second highest Bar Exam pass rate in Virginia

First-time test takers from Liberty University School of Law finished with the second highest pass rate in Virginia for the 2016 July Bar Exam. With an 89.66 pass rate, Liberty finished just around two percentage points behind the University of Virginia’s law school (91.76), and ahead of the College of William & Mary (87.76), the University of Richmond (86.29), and Washington & Lee University (86.11), among others. Results were announced this month.

According to B. Keith Faulkner, dean of Liberty Law, the achievement is due primarily to the hard work and dedication of the Class of 2016 in their preparation for the exam.

“Liberty Law’s faculty and staff, who expertly guide students in preparing for the exam, could not be happier for the success of this exceptional group,” he said. “Among many new efforts to support our graduates as they prepared for the bar, one was a mentorship program launched this summer to provide accountability partners between the faculty and our graduates. This program provided encouragement and support to our graduates and fortified our commitment to their success.”

Faulkner added that Liberty Law’s faculty, staff, and students “strive for excellence in all that they do.

“I am proud of this class and of all of our students and graduates,” Faulkner said. “The performance of the Class of 2016 on the Virginia Bar Exam and numerous other bar exams across the country prove these efforts are bearing fruit.”

Liberty had the best pass rate among first time test-takers for the July 2015 Virginia Bar Exam, and earlier this semester, Liberty Law announced that all graduates who took the North Carolina Bar Exam for the first time in July passed.

Liberty Law has been recognized among the top schools for Bar Exam preparation.
