Liberty alumni create viral YouTube video

Liberty University alumnus Cabot Phillips (’15), who earned a B.S. in American Government and Politics, recently created a YouTube video titled, “Brothers Convince Little Sister of Zombie Apocalypse,” that has gone viral, with more than 9 million views to date.

The video centers on Phillips’ younger sister, Millicent, who was under the influence of pain medication after having her wisdom teeth removed. In the video, Phillips, along with his brothers — Liberty University alumnus Hudson (’15), who earned a B.S. in Public Relations, and Barrett (’12), who earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies — convince Millicent that a zombie apocalypse has hit their hometown of Leesburg, Va.

Millicent is planning to attend Liberty this fall.

The video has been featured by Time, USA Today, and CBS News. The family will also appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

While he was a student at Liberty, Cabot Phillips was a correspondent with Campus Reform, an organization that exposes liberal bias on college campuses. As a reporter, he was featured on Fox News, NewsMax, One America, Rush Limbaugh, and The Blaze. Since graduation, he has continued his success in the broadcast world.

He has also created and starred in other viral YouTube videos, which combined have garnered 3 million views. His recent video on “Candidates’ Cribs,” where he asks young people in front of the White House to match photos of mansions with current presidential candidates’ homes, also received media attention.

Since graduation, Phillips has worked on social media and other digital projects for the Marco Rubio presidential campaign. He will be moving to London this week to work with Vote Leave during the European Union Referendum, which is an economic and political partnership involving 28 European countries. On Thursday, June 23, residents will vote on whether or not Britain should remain in the European Union.
