Liberty hosts 14th Annual Civil War Seminar

This weekend hundreds of Civil War enthusiasts and students from across the United States are attending the 14th Annual Civil War Seminar, hosted by Liberty University’s History Department.

The theme is “Jine the Cavalry,” and the schedule includes lectures from nationally renowned speakers, displays of artifacts and memorabilia, Civil War items for sale, and a period church service on Sunday morning with guest speaker the Rev. Alan Farley in the Worley Prayer Chapel.

The event continues to be a must-see for Civil War buffs mainly because of Liberty’s prime location among some famous historic battlefields of the war. Participants also have the chance to view Liberty’s National Civil War Chaplains Museum, which opened in January. The museum features one-of-a-kind artifacts particular to the spiritual leaders of the war.
