LU to host healthcare mission conference April 14-15

Liberty University and Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) are partnering to create the inaugural Remedy 23: Healthcare on Mission Conference, held in the Montview Alumni Ballroom April 14-15, to discuss living missionally in the healthcare field.

The conference will feature speakers from a wide range of healthcare disciplines who will explain the principle established in Acts 1:8, that through the Holy Spirit Christians are empowered to live on mission for God’s Kingdom regardless of whether they are working in their home community or halfway around the world.

Liberty’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM), School of Nursing, and School of Health Sciences will be represented at the conference. Multiple professors will speak in breakout sessions. Undergraduate students, graduate students, trainees, and healthcare professionals from Central Virginia and beyond are invited. Participants can expect to find relevant topics that pertain to their roles as Christians in the health field. Over 20 exhibitors will provide practical avenues into missional living, including representatives from Samaritan’s Purse, MedSend, and Medical Education International.

Founded in 1931, CMDA provides programs and services supporting its mission to “change hearts in healthcare” with a current membership of over 13,000 healthcare professionals. CMDA addresses policies on healthcare issues; conducts overseas medical education and evangelism projects; coordinates a network of Christian healthcare professionals for fellowship and professional growth; sponsors student ministries in medical, dental, PA, and other healthcare training schools; distributes educational resources; hosts marriage and family conferences; provides developing world missionary healthcare professionals with continuing education; and conducts academic exchange programs overseas.
