Liberty Athletics ranked first in state with eight conference crowns

The Flames’ Football team captured its sixth Big South Conference regular-season trophy on Nov. 23, 2013.

For the fifth year in a row, Liberty Athletics led all programs in Virginia by winning eight conference titles during the 2013-14 academic year.

In the Virginia Sports Information Directors’ (VaSID) 2013-14 All-Sports Championship survey, Liberty’s eight conference titles were tops among Division I athletics programs in the state. Liberty earned Big South Conference titles in men’s cross country, football, men’s golf, men’s indoor track & field, men’s outdoor track & field, field hockey, women’s soccer and women’s swimming & diving.

During the last five athletics seasons, Liberty has claimed a total of 42 conference titles.
