Worship Team Ensemble Auditions

Thank you for your interest in joining one of our worship team ensembles. At this time, auditions are complete for the 2021-2022 academic year. Each year, students have the opportunity to audition for the below listed worship team ensembles. For your reference, please see below for an idea of what our worship team ensemble auditions look like.


*LU Praise, Shine, E-41, and Vessel auditions are complete for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

LU Praise

LU Praise is a group of dynamic musicians dedicated to leading God’s people in genuine, heartfelt worship. This Gospel choir uses ethnic and musical diversity to lead worship through song, testimony, service, and sharing the Word of God. Each year, LU Praise leads worship during campus events and travels to churches and special events throughout the United States. In spring 2017, LU Praise was invited by the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) to perform in their National Conference in Minneapolis, MN and in November 2017, the team traveled to China to represent the United States as part of the Hainan Festival. Membership is by audition and is open to students of any major. This team fulfills an academic ensemble requirement for music majors.


Shine

Shine is an a cappella team of students who inspire and encourage listeners with their beautiful harmony and powerful lyrics. With unique and fresh vocal arrangements, this team utilizes Christian music, old and new, to present the Gospel to its listeners. In 2018, Shine was invited to sing as part of The 8th Annual Christmas in New York at Carnegie Hall with Travis Cottrell and Denver and the Mile High Orchestra. In addition to campus performances, Shine has been featured at Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn, NY and has participated in National Day of Prayer events in Washington, D.C. Membership is by audition and is open to students of any major. This team fulfills an academic ensemble requirement for music majors.


Vessel and E41

Vessel

Vessel is the School of Music’s modern worship band consisting of drums, bass, guitars, keys and vocals. This team leads worship regularly at campus gatherings and events as well as churches and conferences around the country. Additionally, Vessel has had the opportunity to do recording both in the studio and for promotional music videos. The primary mission of Vessel is to encourage the body of Christ and exhibit a worship lifestyle on and off the platform. Membership is open to music majors by audition and fulfills an academic ensemble requirement.

E41

E41 take its name and mission from Ephesians 4:1 which states, “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called…” (ESV). This worship band utilizes guitars, string bass, fiddle, mandolin, cajon, auxiliary percussion and tight vocal harmonies to lead popular worship songs arranged in the folk and bluegrass genres. Whether on the campus of Liberty University or in churches across the country, their distinct sound brings a fresh experience to worship. Membership is open to music majors by audition and fulfills an academic ensemble requirement.
