ROTC Information

Liberty University’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program exists to commission lieutenants for the Army and to provide leadership development for Liberty students. This residential program offers several specialized programs and tracks of study for students interested in serving as leaders in the U.S. Army. Prospective cadets can visit the Army ROTC webpage or the Prospective Students webpage to learn more.

Students are also able to participate in Air Force ROTC through a partnership with the University of Virginia – Charlottesville.

Be advised that all ROTC scholarships are subject to the General Scholarship Rule and cannot be used toward the purchase of any dining plans, book vouchers, or Flames Cash advances. Army ROTC Scholarships and Programs

Many Liberty University students take advantage of the opportunities and programs that are available through Army ROTC. Below we have highlighted a few of the top scholarship opportunities available if you are interested in enrolling in this program at Liberty. Army ROTC Scholarships:

In addition to the national scholarship program that awards three and four-year scholarships to individuals graduating from high school, Liberty University also offers two and three-year campus-based scholarships for students that are already full-time Liberty students attending military science classes. Green to Gold:

The Army Green to Gold program provides eligible active duty enlisted soldiers an opportunity to complete a baccalaureate degree or graduate degree and be commissioned as Army officers upon receiving the appropriate degrees. Army ROTC Nursing:

The Army ROTC Nursing program provides an opportunity for Cadets to gain practical nursing experience while receiving financial assistance for college. Nursing majors are able to compete for 2-, 3-, or 4- year scholarships. Visit the Army ROTC Nursing website for more information.


Air Force ROTC Program:

Liberty University students have the opportunity to join AFROTC (Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) Detachment 890, which is based out of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. AFROTC is a training program that prepares college students to become officers in the United States Air Force. Students work with Detachment 890 to qualify for a commission in the Air Force while simultaneously completing their university undergraduate degree requirements. Joining the Military

  • Visit or contact your local recruiting office to speak with a recruiter representing the branch of military that you are interested in joining.
  • Lynchburg’s local recruiting office is located at 2108 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg VA.

Virginia Army National Guard (VaARNG):
