At Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM), our faculty, administrative staff and student-doctors embrace a servant’s heart, a scientist’s curiosity, and the desire to improve the lives of others through the practice of osteopathic medicine. We believe it is important for you to understand the beliefs and mission of LUCOM and what sets us apart from other medical schools across the nation.
LUCOM is a faith-based institution with a Christian worldview.
We believe that our greatest responsibility is to love God and our fellow man. We demonstrate that conviction through our actions and our daily walk. We believe in prayer and the power of prayer.
Medicine is a serving profession.
We are devoted to developing a servant’s heart in our student-doctors, and we strive to nourish that spirit through medical outreach events, both domestically and internationally. We believe that you must demonstrate love for each other through your actions, not merely through words. We are training young professionals to have great minds, and great hearts.
A physician is challenged to be a leader.
We believe in developing innovative, community-based physicians to meet the needs of underserved and divergent populations across our nation and around the globe. We support the advancement of medical knowledge and skill through scholarly research and experimentation in our Center for Research. We inspire our medical students to be patient advocates and rise up to needed positions of leadership forming mature partnerships that advance the health and wellness of those we serve.
We, at LUCOM, are proud of who and what we are. We are committed to remaining consistent in defending our values, mission, and vision.
We hope you will join us on our journey.
