Liberty University’s 100% online Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling – Dobson Center Parenting and Child/Adolescent Development is designed to train you in biblical counseling principles and strategies. Biblical integration will provide a solid foundation of outreach to effectively work with adults and adolescents. Offered through the James C. Dobson Center, the program’s curriculum features lectures and material from world-renowned psychologist, author, radio host, and family expert, Dr. James C. Dobson. Courses feature materials from the counseling field considered essential to the master’s level professional preparation of human service counseling workers who seek to offer services in areas such as leadership, families, addictions, and recovery.  

Liberty University has collaborated with a world-renowned psychologist, author, radio show host, and family expert Dr. James C. Dobson to create Liberty University’s James C. Dobson Center for Child Development, Marriage, and Family Studies. Through this partnership, Liberty University offers a parenting and child/adolescent development program track for the Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling that is designed to give ministry professionals and pastors the tools to help parents and their children to grow together.

Liberty University’s James C. Dobson Center for Child Development, Marriage, and Family Studies gives students in the parenting and child/adolescent development area of study advanced, field-tested, and evidence-based family counseling and parenting skills training. The parenting and child/adolescent development track features lectures and material from world-renowned psychologist, author, radio host, and family expert Dr. James C. Dobson. This training will provide you with the knowledge to positively impact families and communities.

Students in the Parent and Child/Adolescent track will study important foundational subjects such as how family issues and environmental factors affect child development and about the development of personhood from childhood to adulthood. Students will also be able to choose individual child counseling issues courses such as Childhood Trauma and handling Healthy Sexuality in a biblical way.

Students who complete a degree in Christian counseling like the online Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling will be equipped for ministry-based, non-licensure counseling roles in many areas including marriage and family counseling, addiction counseling, and counseling women.
