Reach New Heights in the Aviation Field

In 20 years, Liberty's School of Aeronautics has grown from just four students to over 5,000 worldwide. In 2013, we introduced the Flight Training Affiliate (FTA) program, which allows students to complete their flight training locally where it's convenient for them. Since then, we have expanded to multiple locations nationwide. Liberty's program is now one of the largest collegiate aeronautical flight programs in North America.

You can be a part of this exciting, rapidly-growing program and reach new heights in your aviation career. Here are some benefits our program provides:

High School Dual Enrollment

Start taking your academics with us online while you’re in high school so you can progress straight into flight training upon obtaining your high school diploma.

Reduced ATP Program

You may be able to participate in the R-ATP program, which has been approved by the FAA to reduce the required hours for your ATP license from 1,500 to just 1,000.

Affordable Costs

Liberty's B.S. in Aviation program costs less than most residential non-flight bachelor's degrees with overall tuition costs falling between $22,500-46,800.

Additional Training Options

While not required for graduation, you can also obtain your Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), Multi-Engine Rating (ME), and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) licenses.

During my internship with United Airlines, I flew to Hong Kong in the jump seat of the 747 and traveled to Rome, Vancouver, Honolulu, Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas… I will never forget the relationships and the experiences I built during my internship!

- Kaitlyn A. ’17

My flight training affiliate is a second home. It’s a perfect fit!

- Michael M., Online Student — Jacksonville, Fla.

The caliber of students coming out of the program is outstanding… It is almost a guarantee if a student comes out of Liberty that they are exactly the type of employee we are looking for.

- Kevin Dallaire, Piedmont Airlines Recruiter

Affordable Costs

Liberty has one of the most affordable flight-focused bachelor’s degrees in the nation. Through this program, you’ll have the ability to obtain the following licenses:

  • Private Pilot’s Certificate (PPL)
  • Commercial Pilot’s Certificate (CPL)
  • Multi-Engine (ME)
  • Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)

While our standard tuition rates are between $22,500-$46,800, when combined with flight training overall costs come to $108,501-$132,801. It typically costs around $80,000 just for your licenses to become a pilot with no previous experience. And you can use the following to help with financing your degree:

  • Federal financial aid, loans, grants, and aviation-specific scholarships
  • Tuition discounts available for military service members and their spouses, first responders, and other corporate partners

Also, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2022, airline and commercial pilots had an average salary of $148,900,* meaning you’ll be able to earn back the costs of the program quickly and effectively.
