Things to Know

We are the team working behind the scenes supporting university-wide efforts to promote data-informed decision making for the purposes of continuous institutional improvement and enhanced student learning. The OIE oversees and coordinates the decennial and fifth-year reaffirmations by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC). We also provide support and resources for programmatic accreditation reporting. While our most visible responsibilities are accreditation reporting, assessment, and university-wide surveys, we also have a role in the Catalog, the University Policy Directory, and the Substantive Change Policy.

Exciting Spring 2022 updates and upcoming events are outlined as follows:

• We are excited to welcome Dr. Deanna Keith as the new Associate Vice Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Research!
• The SACSCOC fifth-year report was submitted in early March. The ten-year reaffirmation report is due in the fall of 2025, data collection for this report will focus on the 22/23, 23/24, and 24/25 years.
• We will hold our Welcome Back session during faculty orientation before the Fall semester begins at which time assessment deadlines will be shared.
• The annual Alumni Survey call for plans will be sent in August with plans due in early September. To access survey content or results from previous years, contact Elicia Charlesworth.
