CSER 317-001: LIBERTY CHAMPION
Supervisor: Debbie Huff (582-2428 or
Email)
Work on the Liberty Champion can be done in several areas: contributions to news, feature, editorial and sports pages; work in photography; contributions in copy editing and layout; work toward the establishment of an advertising program for the paper; and work with research for and circulation of the newspaper.

Students are required to report to the journalism lab Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:20 p.m. for a variety of purposes. Each staff member is assigned a beat he must cover each week.

Evaluation for the lab is based on the weekly contributions and a portfolio displaying contributions printed in the paper, other work completed, and a listing of any pertinent information that will help the student compile a resume or apply for a job.

CSER 319-001: SELAH
Supervisor:
Laura Sipple (582-7306 or Email)
Work on SELAH may be done in several areas: writing and editing, photography, layout and design, records and portraits and business.

Students must come to the journalism lab Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:20 p.m. When final deadlines must be met, students are expected to volunteer extra time on weekends, and during returns from vacations. Each staff member is assigned a job and each staff member must help with everyone else's job, as well, so that everyone learns all facets of producing the book.

Evaluation for the lab is based on the daily and weekly contributions of staff members. A special notice will be made of evidences of the fruit of the Spirit at work in each member's relationships with others on the staff. Certainly, peace, gentleness, self-control and consideration for others are prerequisites of the Christian/Community Service.

CSER 330-001: Visitors Center
Supervisor: David Fantin (592-3107 or
Email)
During the academic year prospective students and their families visit the campus of Liberty University. Many people are required to greet, guide, and accommodate guests. Numerous people are also required to plan and execute large (CFAW, Friendly Friday, Misc.) events throughout the year. There are so many areas of service within the Visitors Center, and there is a fit for everyone. If you have specific career goals (“I want to be an event planner someday, I want to build houses, I want to be a pastor, I want to be a leader in business, etc.”) we would like to place you in the best possible place within the Visitors Center to begin building a great resume and help you become prepared for what God has for your future! We look forward to hearing from you and would love to have you be a part of our team.

CSER 345-002: PARENT AND FAMILY CONNECTIONS OFFICE
Supervisor: Theresa Dunbar (582-2339 or Email) or Sarah Knudsen (582-2339 or Email)
Our office provides many resources, events and assistance to parents and families of Liberty students. We provide a fall and spring family weekend event each year. We need the assistance of students to prepare for and make these weekends successful and fun for our visiting families. Students will come a month prior to our events to assist with preparing welcome bags for our visiting families (we prepare for 800 to 1000 families to attend). We utilize volunteers during the week of the event with preparations of signs and details for the weekend. Volunteers also assist with the setup and clean up of our dinners and any events we provide for the weekend.
