Scholarships for CFAW

One of the top questions for college applicants is “How do I secure scholarships for college?”

By attending College For A Weekend (CFAW), you are opening yourself up to multiple scholarship opportunities at Liberty University. Our scholarship contests allow you to display your skills and understanding in areas like technology, music, and education, as well as share the impact of your faith and ideas.

Review each scholarship’s criteria below, and start your journey in pursuing higher education and simultaneously making a difference in the world for Christ!

  • The BFA in Theatre Arts Scholarship Competition

    The BFA in Theatre Arts Scholarship competition will be given to one perspective student who shows great promise in their BFA audition for Musical Theatre or Acting.

    In partnership with the Department of Theatre Arts, we will be giving away a $1,000 BFA in Theatre Arts Scholarship from the group of BFA auditions during the Feb. 21-24, 2019 or Apr. 4-7, 2019 CFAW weekends.

    In order to sing up for a BFA audition slot, email theatre@liberty.edu.

    The winner will be selected by April 13, 2019 and will be contacted through email with scholarship details.

  • Cinematic Arts Scholarship Drawing

    The Cinematic Arts Department is offering a $1,000 scholarship to one student who attends a Cinematic Arts presentation and tour scheduled for Friday afternoons of the spring CFAW weekends. Entrants must fill out an electronic form in person at the presentation (see CFAW schedule for location).

    The winner will be drawn at random and notified via email by April 12.

  • CFAW Scholarship Contest

    Compete to win one of four $2,500 scholarships to Liberty University! Once you place your Confirmation Deposit, you are eligible to enter by telling us how a scholarship to Liberty will help you change the world for Christ in 50-280 characters. Contest entry will be live during each CFAW event until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019. Be creative and concise, the winner will be announced Saturday evening.

    For the February event, enter the contest by taking our survey starting at 8 a.m. on Feb.21, 2019 until 3 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2019.

  • Unashamed

    The Unashamed Project is about celebrating high school juniors and seniors living unashamedly for Christ in their schools, neighborhoods, cities, or across the globe. In partnership with the Rawlings School of Divinity, we will be giving away a $10,000 Unashamed scholarship to the winner during CFAW, Sept. 26-29, 2019. 

    Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes."

  • Studio & Digital Arts CFAW Scholarship

    The Studio & Digital Arts Department is pleased to announce the opportunity for one student to win a $1,000 scholarship. 

    Students must attend the Studio & Digital Arts demonstrations in the Art + Design District in Green Hall, scheduled for Fridays from 1-4 p.m. during the spring CFAW weekends. Entrants must fill out an electronic form in person at the registration table in the Art + Design District (see CFAW Schedule for location).  

    The winner will be drawn at random and notified via email by April 12.

  • Worship Lifestyle Project 

    The Worship Lifestyle Project is about celebrating high school juniors and seniors who are living a lifestyle that worships and gives glory to Christ through everyday actions. In partnership with the School of Music, we will be giving away two $10,000 Worship Lifestyle Project scholarships to the winners of this project during CFAW, Feb. 21-24, 2019.

    Additional Requirements (only for students who plan to complete both the Worship Lifestyle Track 2 Presentation and the School of Music Placement Audition):

    • If you plan to major in music, complete your School of Music Placement Audition during the same time as your Worship Lifestyle Track 2 Presentation.
    • If you are completing your School of Music Placement Audition, prepare “Amazing Grace” per the Worship Lifestyle Track 2 Requirements.
    • Prepare a contrasting piece to share with the faculty, and be prepared to present scales, arpeggios, etc. Please note that you may or may not be asked to play the additional piece or present scales, arpeggios, etc. Listening to this additional material is up to the faculty’s determination.
    • All of this will take place during the same audition slot.
    • For students who are only completing their Worship Lifestyle Presentation (not a School of Music Placement Audition), please disregard the above additional requirements.
