Faculty Advisors
The Liberty University chapter is overseen by faculty advisors:
In spring 2018, Liberty University inducted 175 new members to Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society including both residential and Liberty University Online students.
To become a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, you must meet the following requirements:
During your first semester as a new college student, you must be enrolled as a full-time (12-15 hours) student pursuing a baccalaureate (Bachelor's) degree in either the Liberty University Resident Program or the Liberty University Online Program.
You must have a 3.5 or higher career GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at the end of your first semester as a brand new college student.
You must have no repeats, no incompletes, and no failures.
If you have already received an invitation, you are eligible. Members are typically invited during their first year. If you have 24 or more credit hours, contact the Liberty University chapter of Tau Sigma National Honor Society for Transfer students.
Founded in the spring of 1934 at the University of Illinois, Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society that recognizes academic excellence among first-year students. Today, Alpha Lambda has over 235 chapters throughout the nation and offers almost $100,000 in scholarships to its members.
Alpha Lambda Delta emphasizes that educated persons have a responsibility to "have tolerance in dealings with all persons, generosity in giving to those in need, and insight into the feelings of others." Members are challenged to make a "meaningful contribution to society" and, through their chapters, engage in community service projects as well as campus service activities.
Our Liberty University Chapter's official chartering service was held on August 26, 1986, with four charter members, and 139 student initiates. Since then, we have initiated more than 1,500 members.
