Evidence-based practice projects (EBP) fall under the category of Quality Improvement (QI) projects, as defined by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The IRB will verify whether or not your project meets the definition of research. If your project is not considered research, you will be issued a non-human subjects approval letter. If your project is considered research, please refer to the above “General IRB Requirements.” Your application will then be reviewed at the appropriate level by the IRB.
