The Varsity Club Founder

Morgan Hout was the fourth Liberty head football coach, leading the Flames from 1984 to 1988 before accepting a position at Baylor University. Coach Hout oversaw the program's transition to the NCAA Division I-AA (now FCS) level, and his 1988 team finished with an 8-3 record and Top 20 national ranking. Several of his former players went on to compete in the NFL, including Fred Banks, Steve Clark, Kelvin Edwards, Eric Green, Wayne Haddix, Mark Mathis, and Richard Shelton. Coach Hout returned to Liberty in 2012 to work in the Hancock Welcome Center, by invitation from President Jerry Falwell, Jr.

The Varsity Club, originally named the Liberty University Letterman's Association, was founded by former Flames Football Coach Morgan Hout in 2012.
