    Jonathan Yaun posted a season low 18-hole total on Sunday to secure a top-30 finish in the 2022 Gator Invitational.

    Fueled by five birdies on the day, the “Sunshine State” native carded a 2-under par 68 to finish the Florida-hosted tournament tied for 28th place with an overall score of 3-over par 213 (73-70-68).

    As a team, No. 24 Liberty finished in 14th place after recording a 39-over par 879 (299-286-294) following three rounds around the Mark Bostick Golf Course (par 70, 6,701 yards).

    Field Reflections:

    • 31 Florida, the tournament host, used it home course advantage to secure a 12-stroke victory on Sunday.
    • The Gator posted a winning score of 28-under par 812 (267-269-276).
    • Oklahoma State, the top ranked team in the field at No. 3, finished in second place with a 16-under par 824 (278-271-275).
    • Two other teams in the 14-team field finished in red figures: No. 25 South Florida 2-under par 838 (280-276-282) and Georgia Southern 1-under par 839 (290-275-274).
    • Florida’s Fred Biondi captured individual medalist honors with a winning score of 14-under par 196 (63-66-67).

    Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes:

    • Yaun finished the event with his 17th career sup-70 round and his third in four career appearances at the Gator Invitational (posted rounds of 67 in 2020 and 2021).
    • Yaun led the Flames during the tournament with eight birdies, including five on Sunday.
    • Yaun’s Sunday push allowed the junior to move up the leaderboard 24 spots during the final round.
    • Austin Duncan followed behind Yaun for the Flames, finishing tied for 44th place with a 7-over par 217 (73-70-74).
