Women’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award
Liberty earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for its exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year.
The College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2020-21 academic year. Liberty was one of seven programs in the ASUN Conference to receive the honor.
“I am very proud of the continued phenomenal effort put forth by our women’s soccer student athletes in the classroom, on the field, and in the community,” head coach Lang Wedemeyer said. “They are wonderful representatives of Liberty University and our athletic department.”
For the 2020-21 academic year, Liberty women’s soccer earned a 3.67 GPA and had five players recorded a 4.0 GPA. Ninety-one percent of the team also made the ASUN Honor Roll, which requires a 3.0 GPA or better to earn Honor Roll recognition.
This is the ninth time Liberty has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award and fifth straight year for the Lady Flames.
