Liberty earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for its exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year.

The College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2021-22 academic year. Liberty was one of eight programs in the ASUN Conference to receive the honor.

“I am very proud of the continued phenomenal effort put forth by our women’s soccer student athletes in the classroom, on the field, and in the community,” head coach Lang Wedemeyer said. “They are wonderful representatives of Liberty University and our athletic department.”

For the 2021-22 academic year, Liberty women’s soccer earned a 3.64 GPA and had three players recorded a 4.0 GPA. Twenty-nine of Liberty’s 33 players also made the ASUN Honor Roll, which requires a 3.0 GPA or better to earn Honor Roll recognition.

This is the 10th time Liberty has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award and sixth straight year for the Lady Flames.
