Following another top-10 performance, Liberty’s Kieran Vincent has been named this week’s ASUN Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Vincent shared the honors with North Florida’s David Lee, with both golfers finishing tied for ninth place at the General Hackler Championship event earlier this week.
Vincent carded a 5-under par 211 (71-70-70) during his three trips around at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. (par 72, 7,233 yards).
The 15-team tournament field included 10 teams ranked inside the Golfstat top 50 national rankings, including No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 18 Auburn.
The redshirt senior finished fourth in the 87-man field with 40 pars and led the Flames during the tournament with 10 birdies.
The native of Harare, Zimbabwe, played the par-3 holes at an average of 2.92 and the par-4 holes at 3.97, ranking in the top 10 in the field in both categories.
The ninth-place showing accounted for Vincent’s 23rd career top-10 finish and his third at the General Hackler Championship. In three career appearances at the General Hackler Championship, Vincent has a 70.78 career scoring average (637 strokes over nine rounds).
Vincent posted his third sub-par tournament finish of the season and lowered his team-leading season stroke average to 71.44.
This is the third time in Vincent’s career the redshirt senior has been named the ASUN Men’s Golfer of the Week (also on Jan. 28, 2021 and Sept. 5, 2020).
