USA Field Hockey Release/Full List of U-21 and Development Squad Selection Camp Selections

Liberty field hockey rising junior Reagan Underwood has been selected to attend the USA Field Hockey 2023 U-21 and Development Squad Selection Camp.

Underwood was selected based on her performance at the 2022 Senior Nexus Championship, held at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center from July 17-22. The U-21 and Development Squad Selection Camp will take place in Dec. 2022 and Jan. 2022, with specific timing and location to be confirmed. At the Selection Camp, Underwood and her peers will be evaluated to be named to the 2023 U-21 and Development Squad.

Once chosen, the U-21 Squad will prepare for the Junior Pan American Championship in April in Barbados with hopes to qualify for the women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup in December in Chile. The athletes above this age group will be afforded opportunities to train with the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) as they prepare for the FIH Hockey Pro League matches in 2023.

Earlier this summer, Underwood also competed with the U.S. U-21 National Team at the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament in Dublin, Ireland.

As a sophomore for Liberty during the fall 2021 season, Underwood started all 23 games as a midfielder and recorded three goals, seven assists and 13 points. The Sinking Spring, Pa. native earned the NCAA Elite 90 Award for field hockey, given to the student-athlete with the top GPA at the 2021 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championships. Underwood, a digital media and journalism major, earned Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team recognition.
