Three Named to ASUN All-Conference Teams
Defending ASUN Champion Liberty was well represented on the 2022 ASUN Men’s All-Conference teams, which were released earlier today.
Liberty’s Kieran Vincent and Austin Duncan were named to the ASUN Men’s Golf All-Conference first team. Teammate Jonathan Yaun was named to the ASUN Men’s Golf All-Conference second team.
The three will look to be part of the team that helps the Flames defend their ASUN title at next week’s ASUN Men’s Golf Championship. The three-day, 54-hole event gets underway on Sunday at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
Vincent is now a four-time All-ASUN honoree, garnering first-team honors the last three seasons (2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22) and second-team accolades during the 2018-19 season.
Vincent leads the Flames on the season with a 70.96 stroke average and is ranked No. 46 in the latest Golfstat individual national rankings.
The native of Harare, Zimbabwe, has played 66.7 percent of his rounds at par or better this season (18-of-27) and ranks No. 57 in the country in pars per round (11.87).
The redshirt senior has five top-five finishes during the 2021-22 season and ranks second in program history with 25 career top-five finishes.
A grad transfer from North Greenville, Duncan has posted a 71.90 season stroke average and has played 46.7 percent of his rounds at par or better (14-of-30). He leads the team with seven sub-70 rounds and ranks No. 50 in the country in pars per round (11.87).
Duncan was a PING GCAA All-American (second team) at North Greenville, last year, and finished the 2020-21 season ranked No. 6 in the country.
The native of York, S.C., was honored earlier today when he was named to the ASUN All-Academic team and was selected the 2022 ASUN Men’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Yaun grabs his third career All-ASUN honors today. He was also a first-team honoree in 2019-20 and was selected to the All-ASUN second team in 2020-21.
The native of Minneola, Fla., ranks second on Liberty’s roster with a 71.89 season stroke average and has played 44.4 percent of his rounds at par or better this season (12-of-27). He ranks second on the team in last round scoring (70.78) and par-5 scoring average (4.65).
Earlier this month, Yaun matched the program’s 54-hole scoring record with a 12-under par 201 (67-67-67) at Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Championship.
