2023 CSC Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Team

Following a career year on the course, Liberty’s Isaac Simmons has once again been honored for his excellence in the classroom.

Simmons has been named to the 2023 CSC Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Team and is now eligible for the Academic All-America® At-Large Team.

Simmons is the second player in program history to be named to the CSC Academic All-District® At-Large Team. He joins his former teammate Austin Duncan, who was named to the listing last year.

The native of Huddleston, Va., is a two-time ASUN Men’s Golf All-Academic Team member and was named to the 2022 GCAA/All-America Scholar team.

Simmons finished his undergraduate degree in financial planning in May 2022 with a 3.83 GPA. He currently holds a 3.76 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in finance.

On the course, Simmons finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 71.82 season stroke average, which is the best mark of his four-year career with the Flames.

He played 18-of-39 rounds at par or better this season (46.2 percent) and posted a career-best seven sub-70 rounds.

His best finish of the season was a fourth-place showing at the ASUN Championship where he carded a 15-under par 201 (64-67-70). His career-low 54-hole total helped Liberty capture the seventh conference title in program history.

Simmons and the Flames advanced to the NCAA Bath Regional, last week, the team’s 11th appearance at an NCAA Regional in the last 12 complete seasons. Liberty entered the Michigan State hosted regional ranked No. 39 in the country.
