After last week’s thrilling win over Kennesaw State, Liberty’s Rebekah Earnest has been named this week’s ASUN Player of the Week. The honor comes after Earnest recorded a goal and an assist in Liberty’s comeback win at KSU. Liberty trailed 2-0 at Kennesaw State with eight minutes left in regulation and Liberty mounted a comeback, as Earnest provided the game-tying assist, with 20 seconds left in regulation, sending the match into overtime. In double overtime, the junior from Reading, Pa. would deliver the gamer-winning goal to give Liberty the 3-2 victory.

Earnest has tallied six points this season with two goals and two assists. Earnest and the Lady Flames will return to action on Friday, Oct. 29, and travel to Nashville, Tenn. to face Eastern Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the ASUN Tournament. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
