Following Liberty Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze on Monday, the local media spoke with running back Chris Megginson and Khaleb Coleman.
Both Hunter and Treadwell played significant roles during Liberty’s 21-12 victory over Akron, last Saturday, during College for a Weekend to even the Flames’ record at 2-2.
Megginson helped Liberty’s defense limit Akron to 12 points during the game and the Flame created their 12th turnover in 2022. Through four games this season, Liberty ranks No. 4 in the country in turnovers gained (12).
Coleman got the Flames on the scoreboard first in the game when he caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Johnathan Bennett at the 10:58 mark of the first quarter. The scoring play was the third touchdown reception of the Super Senior’s five-year playing career with the Flames.
Flames Milestone Watch
2: WR Demario Douglas has already recorded a pair of games with two TD receptions this season (at Southern Miss, at Wake Forest). If he catches a pair of TD passes on Saturday, Douglas would become the first Flame with three games of 2+ receiving TDs in a single season since Antonio Gandy-Golden (3 in 2018).
3: If S Robert Rahimi intercepts a pass on Saturday, it would mark his third consecutive game with a pick. The last Flame to pick off a pass in three straight contests was Tyrin Holloway (Sept. 10-24, 2016). Rahimi is the first Liberty player to record an interception in back-to-back games since Bejour Wilson on Aug. 31 & Sept. 7, 2019.
30: If Liberty is victorious on Saturday, it would mark Hugh Freeze's 30th win as the Flames' head coach. He would tie Danny Rocco as the fastest Liberty coach ever to record 30 victories (in 42 games).
