3/18/2023 9:33:00 PM | Men's Tennis

The No. 66 Liberty Flames rolled past the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Saturday afternoon, taking a 6-1 win on the road at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.

Liberty improves to 8-8 overall and 3-0 in the ASUN with its second league win in as many days. The Flames swept the Kennesaw State Owls on Friday night at the Liberty Tennis Complex. EKU slips to 3-12 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Liberty won two out of three doubles matches to get the match's initial point. The Flames went on to win the first three singles matches to secure the match clinching point then added two more wins on courts five and six.

The Flames improve to 3-0 all-time against the Colonels in what was the first time the two squads squared off in ASUN play. Prior to today, Liberty and EKU hadn't competed against each other since 2016.

Liberty is traveling to Nashville to face the Lipscomb Bisons (4-8, 1-0 ASUN) to finish a three-match ASUN weekend. The Flames and Bisons will face each other on Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern at Vanderbilt's Lummis Family Tennis Center.
