    No. 13 Liberty carded a 3-under par 281 on Monday to widen its lead heading into tomorrow's final round of the 2021 ASUN Men's Golf Championship.

    The Flames fired the best round of the day and were one of only three teams in the field to break par during the nine-team field's second time around the University of Georgia Golf Course (par 71, 7,258 yards).

    The Flames, the No. 1 seed in the championship, lead the nine-team field with a score of 14-under par 554 (273-281).

    No. 4 seed Jacksonville remains in second place with a 5-under par 563 (280-283), followed by No. 3 seed FGCU, who is in third place with a 1-under par 567 (285-282).

    All five of Liberty's golfers are currently ranked inside the top 10 on the 45-man leaderboard. Kieran Vincent, who is individually ranked No. 7 in the country, leads the Flames and is tied for third place with a 5-under par 137 (68-69).

    The Flames will return to the course tomorrow morning for the final round in search of their first-ever ASUN title and their first conference championship since 2018.

    During Round 3, Liberty will be paired with golfers from Jacksonville and FGCU, with the three lead teams heading off the No. 1 tee (par 4, 466 yards) starting at 10 a.m.

    Round Recap – Liberty's Starting Five:
    • No. 7 Kieran Vincent – T3 5-under par 137 (68-89)
    • No. 89 Jonathan Yaun – 6 4-under par 138 (67-71)
    • Zach Barbin – T8 1-under par 141 (69-72)
    • No. 42 Alexandre Fuchs – T10 1-over par 143 (74-69)
    • Ervin Chang – T10 1-over par 143 (69-74)

    Field Reflections:
    • While the Flames carded a 3-under par 281 on Monday, the entire nine-team field played the University of Georgia's home course more than three strokes over par (74.09 scoring average).
    • No. 18 North Florida, the defending conference champions, continued to struggle and is in fourth place with a 5-over par 573 (288-285), 19 strokes behind leading Liberty.
    • Ten players in the 45-man field broke par on Monday, including two members of Liberty's five-man starting lineup.
    • Jacksonville's Michael Sakane continues to lead the field and stands atop the individual leaderboard with a 10-under par 132 (64-68).
    • North Florida's Nick Gabrelick, the No. 2 ranked golfer in the country, is currently in second place with a 7-under par 135 (68-67).
    • Vincent shares third place with FGCU's Van Holmgren (69-68) and Jacksonville's Alexandre Vandermoten (67-70) with a 5-under par 137.

    Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes:
    • The Flames have done a majority of their scoring on the par-5 hole during the ASUN Championship, having played the par-5 holes at a combined 15-under par through two rounds (4.50 scoring average).
    • Liberty also leads the field in total pars (120) and birdies (32).
    • The Flames recorded two eagles on Monday with Alexandre Fuchs and Jonathan Yaun each eagling the par-5, No. 12 hole (561 yards).
    • Yaun's eagle came via a chip-in from just off the edge of the putting surface and helped lower his scoring average on the par-5 holes to a tournament best 5-under par (4.17 scoring average).
    • Yaun, who is currently ranked No. 89 in the country, is in sixth place with a 4-under par 138 (67-71).
    • Zach Barbin offset five bogeys with four birdies during Round 2 and is currently tied for eighth place with a 1-under par 141 (69-72).
    • Alexandre Fuchs, who is ranked No. 42 in the country, tied for the best movement on the leaderboard during Monday's second round.
    • Fuchs moved up 13 spots on the leaderboard to a share of 10th place at 1-over par 143 (74-69) and is tied with teammate Ervin Chang (69-74).
    • Four of Liberty's five golfers (not including Barbin) were a part of Liberty's lineup at the 2019 NCAA Athens Regional played at this same course (May 13-15).
    • The Flames finished the postseason event in fifth place, earning Liberty its second appearance in program history at the NCAA National Championship.
