    After posting the first multi-goal game of his Liberty career, midfielder Marko Mitrevski has been selected as the ASUN Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

    With the Flames needing to win their ASUN match against North Florida to qualify for the ASUN tournament this past Saturday, Mitrevski scored the first two goals of the contest to give Liberty a 2-0 lead midway through the second half. The midfielder sent Liberty to the locker room at halftime with a 1-0 lead, scoring on a penalty kick during the 27th minute. He then scored his second goal of the game, putting in a crossing pass from teammate Gabe Findley for a two-goal advantage during the 63rd minute

    The Flames went on to win their last contest of the regular season 4-1 to secure a spot in the ASUN tournament later this week. With the win at Osborne Stadium, Liberty finishes the regular season with a 4-2 mark at home.

    With two goals Saturday, Mitrevski now has three goals on the season. The midfielder also has two assists for a total of eight points this fall. It is the first time in his career that he has been named the ASUN Player of the Week.

    Mitrevski and Liberty (7-8, 3-4 ASUN), the No. 5 seed in the ASUN tournament, travel to Nashville, Tenn., to face the No. 4 seed Stetson Hatters (7-6-2, 4-3 ASUN) in an ASUN Quarterfinal match, Friday. Kickoff at Lipscomb Soccer Complex is scheduled for 8 p.m.
