Men's XC Up to No. 13 in Southeast
9/23/2019 12:00:00 AM | Cross Country
The Liberty men's cross country team climbed one spot to No. 13 in the Southeast Region, while the Lady Flames remained in the region's No. 12 position, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Both the Flames and Lady Flames have been idle from competition since Sept. 7 but will be back in action this weekend.
Liberty will split up its runners between two different meets on Friday, beginning with the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational in Earlysville, Va. The event, which will preview the course for the 2019 NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships, includes a men's 8K at 9:30 a.m. and a women's 6K at 10:15.
The Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational results are likely to shake up next week's regional poll. Six of the Southeast Region's 15 ranked men's teams and five of the region's ranked women's squads will go head-to-head at UVA Friday morning.
Liberty will also send a different group of women's runners to race the 5K distance at the Queen City Invite, Friday at 5 p.m. at the McAlpine Creek Park course in Charlotte, N.C.
