Liberty’s Top Storylines
• Liberty was originally scheduled to play Clarks Summit on Tuesday evening, but that game was cancelled.
• This will be the first-ever meeting between the Flames and Virginia University of Lynchburg (VUL) Dragons.
• VUL’s campus is less than five miles from Liberty University. VUL was established in 1886, has an enrollment of 750 students and is the oldest school of higher learning in Lynchburg.
• Darius McGhee has 401 career three-pointers and is one of two active Division I players with 400 or more threes. McGhee hit his 400th career three-pointer against UMES on Friday night and is one of 22 players in Division I history with 400+ triples.
• McGhee was named ASUN Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the sixth time in his career, Monday.
• During the Flames’ current three-game winning streak, they are allowing only 52 points per game while scoring 71.3 ppg.
• McKay and the Flames are 109-31 over the last five years (2018-19 through first eight games of this year) for a .779 winning percentage.
• In five wins, the Flames average 10.6 turnovers per game. In three losses, Liberty averages 16 turnovers per contest.
• This will be Liberty’s 16th all-time game on this date. The Flames are 7-8 on Dec. 6.
Liberty defeated Delaware State 96-60 last year on Dec. 6 at Liberty Arena. The Flames knocked down a program-record 21 three-pointers in that game. Keegan McDowell (six threes) and Brody Peebles led the way with 18 points each.
