Liberty’s Top Storylines
• This is the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools. Liberty is in its fifth season in the ASUN, while Bellarmine enters its third season in the league.
• Liberty won the 2019, 2020 and 2021 ASUN titles. The Flames have three conference regular season titltes in four years and one division title (ASUN East Division, 2022).
• The Flames are 50-11 in ASUN Conference regular season play in four years in the league, an .820 winning percentage.
• Darius McGhee was named ASUN Player of the Week on Monday for the second straight week, ASUN-leading third time this season and eighth time in his career.
• McGhee has 428 career three-pointers and is one of two active Division I players with 400 or more threes. He is currently 14th all-time with 428 threes.
• McGhee is first in the nation in three-point field goals per game (4.74) and total three-pointers made (62).
• McKay and the Flames are 113-32 over the last five years for a .779 winning percentage.
Liberty finished its strong non-conference slate with a 9-4 record. This is the Flames’ earliest start to ASUN play since joining the conference (previous: Jan. 1).
• Liberty and Bellarmine last met in the 2022 ASUN Men’s Basketball Championship semifinal round at Liberty Arena (March 5, 2022). The Knights edged the Flames 53-50 to advance to the title game, where they defeated Jacksonville.
• Liberty topped Bellarmine in the two prior meetings, both in regular season play in Louisville, Ky. The Flames bested the Knights 66-53 on Feb. 3, 2022 and by a 94-78 score on Feb. 27, 2021, both at Freedom Hall.
• In the win at Bellarmine during last year’s regular season, Shiloh Robinson (17 points, 12 rebounds) recorded his first career double-double. In the win over the Knights in 2021, the Flames featured five players in double figures, led by 34 points from Darius McGhee.
