Liberty Volleyball Releases 2021 Fall Schedule

Fall 2021 Schedule

The Liberty volleyball team will face a 27-match schedule this fall, released today by fourth-year Head Coach Trevor Johnson.

Liberty will play 10 matches at the Liberty Arena, with no capacity restrictions at the 4,000-seat arena this season. Fans will get a preview of the 2021 fall season when the Lady Flames host Campbell in an exhibition match on Aug. 21.

The Lady Flames open the regular season with a home match against East Carolina on Aug. 27. Liberty will later host a tournament on Sept. 10-11, welcoming Loyola Marymount, Navy, Old Dominion and Purdue Fort Wayne to Liberty Arena.

Liberty will compete in tournaments at Robert Morris (Sept. 3-4) and Evansville (Sept. 17-18), totaling six non-conference away matches.

Due to the addition of Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State, the conference will be divided into Gold (Liberty, FGCU, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, North Florida, Stetson) and Graphite (Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, North Alabama) divisions.

Liberty will face each team in the Gold Division twice (home-and-home). The Flames have one scheduled meeting against each Graphite Division school, taking place in two separate crossover weekends. Those segments will comprise the team's 16-match conference schedule.

Liberty's conference schedule opens with a crossover weekend at Lipscomb, Sept. 24-26. The Lady Flames' first ASUN home match is Oct. 15 against North Florida, ending a span of over a month of having no home contests.

The ASUN Volleyball Championship will be hosted by FGCU in Fort Myers, Fla., Nov. 19-21, with the winner of the eight-team tournament earning the ASUN's automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship.
