Liberty Volleyball Adds Lily Wagner

11/9/2022 12:56:01 PM | Women's Volleyball

Liberty volleyball fifth-year head coach Trevor Johnson and his staff have announced the addition of Lily Wagner to the team’s 2023 roster. Wagner has signed a commitment to attend Liberty and play volleyball beginning in the 2023-24 academic year.

Lily Wagner (OH, 5-11, Germantown, Wis./Germantown High School)

Lily Wagner joins the Lady Flames as the No. 3 ranked recruit from Wisconsin and second-ranked outside hitter in the state, according to PrepDig.com. Also, PrepVolleyball has Wagner ranked 111th nationally. Wagner was recently named an AVCA 2nd Team High School All-American. She has totaled 1,389 career kills and 1,068 career digs. Wagner, a two-time All-State honoree, was named first team All-State last year when she recorded 498 kills (.324) and 381 digs. A two-year team captain, Wagner averaged 5.4 kills and 3.9 digs per set this season, earning first team all-conference honors for the second year in a row. She is a three-time academic award winner, carrying a 4.0 GPA for three semesters.

Hailing from an athletic family, Wagner’s mom, Amy Wagner, was an All-American at Wisconsin, helping the Badgers to the 1997 Big Ten title in volleyball.

“We are excited to add Lily to our program!” said Head Coach Trevor Johnson. “She is not only a tremendous volleyball player, but she is an even better person who is willing to put in the time and effort to master her craft! What stood out to me in the recruiting process was that she wants to be the best at whatever she is doing. She is very competitive! I love the fact that she is hungry to learn, not only on the court, but in life as well. She will immediately raise the level in our gym.”
