Liberty Notables
- Fresh of its first win of the season, Liberty will host its first home contest of the Fall of 2021, Tuesday. The Flames will welcome the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs to Osborne Stadium. It will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2017, when both were members of the Big South Conference.
- Forward Noah Holmes scored two goals and the Flames used a solid defensive effort for a 3-0 victory at Radford on Saturday. The victory was their first of the season. Liberty did not allow a shot on goal in the contest.
- Liberty posted its first shutout of the fall season, Saturday. The Flames did not allow Radford a shot on goal. Liberty held an 8-0 advantage on shots on goal. The Flames had eight shutouts during the Spring 2021 season.
- With the first multi-goal game of his career on Saturday evening, Holmes now leads the Flames with three goals. Freshman Jarrod McKechnie also has a goal for Liberty. He scored his first collegiate goal in the Liberty’s win on Saturday.
- Midfielder Seth Clark assisted on both of Holmes’ goals, Saturday evening. Freshman Michael Catanzarite assisted on McKechnie’s.
- In his first Liberty start, Nathan Yoder played the full 90 minutes in goal. Danny Cordero started the first three games for Liberty.
- Liberty returns 10 of its 11 starters from the spring, including ASUN All-Conference first team midfielders Marko Mitrevski and Seth Clark. Both midfielders and defender Malik Smith were named to the 2021 Fall Preseason All-Conference team. Smith was a second team all-conference team member in the spring.
- In the 2021 Fall ASUN Preseason Poll, the conference’s head coaches voted Liberty to tie Lipscomb for third place in the eight-team league.
