Liberty will welcome an SEC opponent to Lynchburg for the first time in women’s tennis, hosting Missouri on Wednesday afternoon. First serve between the Lady Flames (7-3) and Tigers (4-4) is set for noon at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center.

Liberty brings a five-match winning streak into the contest. The Lady Flames topped North Texas (4-1 final) and South Florida (4-2 final) last weekend in Tampa, Fla. Missouri has won back-to-back matches, most recently defeating Central Arkansas by a 4-2 score on Saturday at home.

This is the first-ever meeting between the Lady Flames and Tigers.

“Hosting an SEC team is a special opportunity for our girls to compete against the best conference in the country on our courts,” said Liberty Women’s Tennis Head Coach Jeff Maren. “Missouri is well-coached and a very good program, so once again we will be forced to play at a high level. These are the kinds of matches that make us strong and prepare us for our conference season and tournament.”
