Liberty to Compete in Puerto Vallarta College Challenge

The Liberty softball team has been selected to compete in the 2023 Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, Feb. 16-19 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, as announced today by tournament producer Triple Crown Sports.
The Lady Flames will compete in session two, with a field consisting of Liberty, Cal State Fullerton, Kansas, North Dakota State, Ole Miss, Sacramento State, Southern Illinois and Tennessee. Liberty is one of four teams in session two who qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division I Softball Championship, joining Cal State Fullerton, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
The games will be played at Nancy Almaraz Stadium. Many teams and their fans will book rooms at the refurbished, oceanside Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center, which is within walking distance to the stadium.
Specific matchup and ticket information will be announced and distributed later this fall.
All games will be live-streamed on FloSoftball.com.
Liberty’s ASUN Conference schedule has been announced, while the remainder of the nonconference schedule will be released at a later date.
The Lady Flames will be making their second appearance in Mexico all-time, as Liberty competed in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge to open the 2019 season. Liberty earned a season-opening victory over BYU before falling to Duke, Notre Dame, Baylor and Washington.
