The Liberty Flames and the Davidson Wildcats played to a 0-0 tie Tuesday at Osborne Stadium.

Each team played solid defense in the contest, as the Flames and Wildcats combined for 15 shots in the match.

Liberty has not allowed a goal in three games at home this season. Flames goalkeeper Danny Cordero made three saves in the contest in recording his first shutout of 2022.|

Liberty moves to 2-1-2 on the season. Davidson improves to 1-4-1.

Turning Point

Davidson outshot Liberty, 7-2, in the first half. However, the Flames’ defense was up to the task. Cordero turned away two shots on goal and during the 34th minute, Liberty defender Grayson Gardner knocked a shot on goal by Wildcat attacker Alonzo Davidson out of harm’s way to keep the game scoreless.

In the second half, Liberty went on the attack. The Flames outshot the Wildcats, 5-1. Luke Eberle ripped a shot attempt at the top of the 18-yard box, forcing a diving save by Davidson goalkeeper Giacomo Piccardo during the 64th minute. Holding possession, Seth Clark ran a shot just past the left post from the top of the box during the 68th minute.
