Liberty Men’s Soccer Releases 2022 Schedule
The Liberty Flames men’s soccer team has announced a challenging schedule for the fall of 2022.
Liberty’s home schedule will feature eight regular season home games and an exhibition. The Flames will open their home slate on Aug. 19 by hosting UMBC in an exhibition game. The exhibition contest will be Liberty’s second as they will being their exhibition schedule with a game at Virginia Tech.
Head Coach Kelly Findley’s team will kick off their 2022 regular season schedule with home games against non-conference opponent Radford on Aug. 25. Game time is is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Osborne Stadium.
The following Friday (Sept. 2), Liberty begins its road schedule by traveling to Los Angeles, Calif., for its first-ever meeting with UCLA on the soccer pitch.
The Flames then return home on Sept. 10 to start ASUN Conference play. Liberty will host Bellarmine.
Liberty’s home schedule also includes visits from non-conference opponents Davidson and VMI, along with ASUN Conference matches against Lipscomb, Stetson and Central Arkansas.
In addition to UCLA, the Flames will face Longwood in a non-conference road match. Liberty will also travel to FGCU, North Florida and Jacksonville for ASUN road conference games. The Flames will conclude their 2022 regular season schedule against ASUN newcomer Queens.
The ASUN Men’s Soccer Championship will be held from Nov. 5-12. The top six teams in the ASUN standings will advance to the 2022 ASUN Men’s Soccer Tournament. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be held at the home sites of the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, Nov. 5 and 7. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will receive a bye and play the quarterfinal winners in the semifinals. The finals will be played on the home field of the highest remaining seed on Nov. 12. The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament.
