Liberty Lacrosse Adds Navy Transfer Loughery
The Liberty lacrosse program has announced the addition of transfer Grace Loughery for the 2022-23 school year.

More importantly, her character and leadership abilities will help us continue to grow and build our culture. We are excited to continue rising to new heights!”
Loughery, a defender, is transferring from Navy, where she competed for the Midshipmen for four years (2019-22). She will be joining her sister, Amelia, an incoming freshman for the Lady Flames. Loughery, who will be a fifth-year senior, is one of 10 new players on the team for the 2022-23 academic year, joining her sister Amelia and freshman Hannah Beard, Jenna Burrow, Katie Colavito, Kendall Coss, Delaney Donohue, Karlie Hickson, Kendall Nye and Ava Rajala.
A native of Bedminster, Pa., Loughery enjoyed a breakout senior season at Navy in 2022, helping the squad post a 15-5 overall record and 7-2 Patriot League mark. Loughery played in all 20 games during the season, making 18 starts. She ranked second on the team in both ground balls (42) and caused turnovers (23).
Loughery had 14 games with multiple ground balls and finished fourth in the Patriot League in ground balls per game (2.10). The Patriot League Defender of the Week on March 21, Loughery also totaled two or more caused turnovers seven times during the season.
During her time at Navy, Loughery helped the Midshipmen post a 41-18 combined record and 19-5 Patriot League mark. The 2019 Midshipmen finished with a 16-5 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
