Liberty Hangs On to Defeat High Point 11-10, Saturday
Liberty hung on to defeat visiting High Point 11-10 in non-conference action, Saturday afternoon at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
The Lady Flames led 10-5 late in the third period before the Panthers went on a 4-0 run to get within a goal (10-9) with 4:24 left. Liberty attacker Jordan Baerga scored an insurance goal to put the hosts up 11-9 with 2:09 to go, and the Lady Flames held on for a one-goal victory.
Liberty improves to 6-4 on the season and has won three straight games. High Point falls to 1-7 overall and has lost back-to-back games.

Turning Point
Liberty closed the first half on a 3-0 run with goals from Cami Merkel, Jordan Sheive and Mackenzie Lehman. Lehman’s goal sent the Lady Flames into the break with a 6-3 edge.
Liberty scored four of the first six goals in the second half to build a five-goal cushion (10-5) with 2:57 to play in the third period. The Lady Flames’ goal scorers during the third period were Merkel, Andrea Colavito, Lizzy Ferguson and Brooke Bryan (2:57 mark).
