Liberty Finishes 11th Out Of 15 Teams At West Florida's Argonaut Invitational

VCU came from three-strokes down to beat Old Dominion by two-strokes to win West Florida's Argonaut Invitational on Tuesday at the Pensacola Golf Club in Pensacola, Fla.
Wichita State finished third, four-strokes off the lead while host West Florida rounds out the top teams in fourth place, six-strokes behind tournament champion, VCU.
Rafael Campos shot two-under par in the final round to hold onto his lead, finishing with medalist honors at seven-under par for the tournament. Kelly Manders of Winthrop shot a 69 during the final round to finish tied for second at five-under par with Danny Amundson of Belmont who shot a round low, 68. Ryan Spears of Wichita State and Lanto Griffin of VCU round out the top performers finishing at four-under par and tied for fourth.
Liberty finished the tournament 11th out of 15 teams as they shot a 903. The Flames were led by Josh Bain who finished tied for 24th at five-over par. Stephen Hawk finished tied for 35th at eight-over par. Jay Calvo shot a 76 to finish at 10-over par while Peter Horstman finished at 22-over par. Michael Turner rounds out the Flame five shooting 24-over par for the tournament.
Men's golf is back in action at a two-day/54 hole Invitational at Mission Inn, hosted by Xavier at the El Campeon Golf Club in Howie in the Hills, Fla. on March 11-12.
