• Liberty completes a five-game road trip with a contest against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at David F. Couch Ballpark, Tuesday. It will be the second meeting between the two teams. Wake Forest took the first game 13-6 on March 22.

• The Flames have won 10 out of their last 13 games. Liberty took a three-game ASUN series at Stetson, 2-1, this past weekend.

• Liberty enters Tuesday's contest 11-9 on the road. After Tuesday's game, the Flames will have four road games remaining in their 2022 regular season.

• Head Coach Scott Jackson is in his sixth season at Liberty. He has led the Flames to a 186-107 record and NCAA Regional appearances in 2019 and 2021 during his tenure.

Out On the Road

• Liberty finishes up a five-game road swing on Tuesday. The Flames have gone 2-2 on the trip and enter the contest with an 11-9 record on the road this season.

• After Tuesday's contest, Liberty will have four road games remaining on its 2022 regular season schedule which the Flames will complete next week. Liberty will face Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on May 10 and then travel to Fort Myers, Fla. for a three-game ASUN series at FGCU, May 12-15.

Hungate Named to NCBWA Stopper Midseason Watch List

• Liberty right-hander Cole Hungate has been named to the 2022 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch list. He is one of the 62 top relief pitchers named to the Midseason Watch List for the 17th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year award, announced by the NCBWA.

• Finalists for the award will be named on June 8 with the winner being announced on June 17 at the 2022 College World Series.

• Hungate enters the week with a 2-0 record with six saves and a 2.70 ERA in 13 appearances, all in relief. The junior right-hander from Abingdon, Va. Has struck out 11 and walked three in 13 1/3 innings. He enters the week fourth in the ASUN Conference in saves.

Flames Set New Strikeout Record in 15-Inning Win

• This past Friday, Liberty pitchers set a new program record for strikeouts in a game, as Liberty downed Stetson 2-1 in 15 innings in DeLand, Fla. Garrett Horn, Mason Fluharty, Cade Hungate and Trey Carter combined to strike out 24, eclipsing the previous mark of 22 set in a 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina on May 10, 1998 at the Big South Tournament in Fort Mill, S.C.

• The game was the first time Liberty played extra innings for the first time since losing to Tennessee 6-5 in 10 innings at the NCAA Chapel Hill, N.C. Regional on June 2, 2019.

• Right fielder Aaron Anderson’s RBI grounder in the 15th inning broke a 1-1 tie and Carter closed out the contest in the bottom of the inning for the victory. 15 innings is the second-longest game innings-wise in program history. VMI edged Liberty 6-5 in 16 innings at Worthington Stadium on April 19, 2008 and Liberty defeated Old Dominion 1-0 in Norfolk, Va. on March 19. 2014 in the two longest contests in program history.
