• The Liberty Flames face the Kennesaw State Owls in a three-game ASUN series at Stillwell Stadium, Thursday-Saturday. The Owls lead the ASUN North Division with a 10-2 record, while Liberty is tied with FGCU for second in the division at 7-5.

• The Flames and Owls are very familiar with each other. Last season, the two teams met seven times, with Liberty taking six of the seven games. The Flames won two of the three games in their series at Stillwell Stadium in 2021 (May 14-16).

Mathieu Among Program HR Leaders

• Senior first baseman Logan Mathieu hit a two-run home run as part his three-hit game, Tuesday against Virginia Tech. The home run was his third of the year and his 29th home run of his career.

• Mathieu enters the weekend tied for sixth on the program's career home run list with former Liberty shortstop Joey Monahan (2000-02) with 29.

• Pat Sipe (1983-86) tops the program's all-time home run list with 59. Sipe also holds Liberty's NCAA Division I mark, having hit 47 during 1985 and 1986.

• Last season, Mathieu led the ASUN Conference with 15 home runs, the fifth most in a single season by a Flame.

• In 2019, the Bellfonte, Pa., native led the ASUN in RBI with 52 and tied for eighth with 40 RBI in 2021.
