2020-21 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award winners

For the second consecutive season, the Liberty Baseball team is among the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award Recipients, as the American Baseball Coach Association (ABCA) has announced the 2021-22 honorees.

The Flames were one of the 115 NCAA Division I schools and 420 collegiate programs nationally to be recognized with the honor. Liberty posted a 3.10 team GPA during the past year. Liberty was joined by Bellarmine and FGCU from the ASUN Conference.

The ABCA’s Team Academic Excellence Award honors college programs and high school programs that post a cumulative Grade Point Average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the 2021-22 academic year.

It is the second year in a row that the Flames have been recognized by the ABCA with the honor. Head Coach Scott Jackson’s team also received the honor for 2020-21.      

Led by 2022 NCAA Division I CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Baseball Team Member of the Year and two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American® Baseball Team member Aaron Anderson, the Flames had 23 student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.0 or better during the 2021-22 academic year.
