Liberty Earns 15-13 Road Victory at High Point on Sunday

4/18/2021 12:00:00 AM | Women's Lacrosse

The Liberty lacrosse team earned a 15-13 road victory over the High Point Panthers on Sunday afternoon at Vert Stadium.

The Lady Flames improve to 8-6 and are two games above .500 for the first time this season after their first-ever road win at High Point. Liberty's victory snaps a five-game winning streak for High Point (6-7).

The win is also the Lady Flames' first over the Panthers in the last six meetings. Liberty had not defeated High Point since April 17, 2015 prior to today's triumph. Liberty is 8-0 this season when scoring 10 or more goals.

Eight different Liberty players scored in the contest, with multiple-goal efforts from six players. Attacker Brooke Bryan led the offensive effort with three goals, while Kim Hagerty, Olivia Glaze, Mia Toscano, Grace Fletcher and Carly White each scored twice. Hagerty's two-goal game was the first of her career.

Thoughts From Head Coach Kelly Nangle
"What a win. This was a huge win for our program. We were firing on all cylinders today. We played a complete game from start to finish. We have been working on putting the pieces together, and today we executed. The girls were confident in our game plan and did a great job executing. We have been building and building all season. We are right where we want to be! I continue to be impressed with the resiliency and response of our young women. We are excited to prepare for another tough stretch of games in Florida!"
