Liberty will close out its Spring Break trip with a road contest at Cincinnati, Sunday afternoon. Game time is noon at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Lady Flames are 4-4 on the season. Liberty defeated Cal 17-13, last Sunday in its most recent game. Cincinnati brings a 4-5 mark into Sunday following a 12-11 home win over Central Michigan on Friday afternoon.

Lady Flames News and Notes

• Liberty is 1-2 all-time versus Cincinnati. The Lady Flames topped the Bearcats for the first time on Feb. 24, 2021, winning 14-10 at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.

• Liberty defender Mikayla Coghill earned her first career ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honor, Tuesday. Coghill led the team with seven caused turnovers and tied for the team lead with eight ground balls in three games last week. Against No. 12 Florida last Wednesday, the defender had career bests in both ground balls (7) and caused turnovers (6). She became the second player in program history to have at least seven ground balls and six caused turnovers in a game.

• Liberty ranks second in the nation in caused turnovers per game (13.38) and third in ground balls per game (21.50).

• Coghill and fellow defender Hannah Quast are both 14th nationally in caused turnover per game (1.88). Attacker Brooke Bryan ranks 18th in free-position goals per game (1.00). She is the program’s career leader in free-position goals with 33.

• The Lady Flames are finding scoring opportunities at a high rate, ranking No. 6 in the country in shots on goals per game (26.00) and No. 12 in shots per game (33.88).

• Sunday’s contest wraps up a three-game road trip for Liberty. The Lady Flames’ next game will be at home versus former Big South rival High Point (1-5), next Saturday at noon.

• Liberty is 1-1 on the current road trip, with a win over Cal and a setback versus UC Davis. The Lady Flames are 2-2 away from Lynchburg in 2022.
