Liberty Accepts Invitation to the 2022 Cancun Challenge
Liberty men’s basketball has accepted an invitation to play in the 2022 Cancun Challenge. The tournament will take place from Nov. 22-23 at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. Joining Liberty in the 15th annual Cancun Challenge is Auburn, Bradley, Northwestern, Eastern Michigan, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Miss and Winthrop.
This is the second time Liberty has participated in the Cancun Challenge, as the Flames will tip-off the event and face Northwestern in the Riviera Division. This will be the third meeting between Liberty and Northwestern and first since 2009. Last season, Northwestern finished the year with a 15-16 record and a 7-13 record in the Big Ten Conference.
